Scanscot Inside

Company profile

Hamburg’s Port is no longer only the gateway to the world, it is one of the centres. It is here in the middle of the city, in the Ratshof , that SCANSCOT Shipping Services Deutschland has established itself.

The shipping company, founded in 1967 by Scandinavian and Scottish ship owners – hence the name SCANSCOT – started off as a special carrier and transported in particular wood products from British Columbia to Europe, as well as cellulose and paper from the Baltic countries to the Far East. Today SCANSCOT ships are at sea around the globe and around the clock and transport everything that is desired.

The fact that the shipping company SCANSCOT remains loyal to the Hamburg location in spite of worldwide activities, is substantiated by Managing Director Michael W. von Brauchitsch with the firm conviction that „Made in Germany“ will continue to guarantee product quality even in the future and is consequently an obligation - even for the logistic service provider SCANSCOT.
